This morning, new economic reports confirmed what Americans have known for months now: prices are heating up at their fastest pace in years. The May 2026 Consumer Price Index report showed that U.S. inflation jumped to its highest rate in nearly half a decade – the third consecutive month for spiking inflation in the wake of Trump’s war of choice in the Middle East. Trump promised Americans he would end inflation “on day one,” but a year and a half into his second term, prices are spiraling out of control as working families struggle to make ends meet. The truth is, Trump and Republicans never cared about getting the affordability crisis of their own making under control. They’re only concerned with seeking retribution against their political enemies and bankrolling foreign wars instead of making life more affordable for the rest of us.
