Trump’s Illegal Tariff Taxes Have Spiked Prices on Groceries, Clothes, Cars and More And Have Slowed The Economy and Job Creation to a Halt

Americans Must Get an Immediate Refund on the Illegal Tariff Taxes Trump Imposed on Every American Family

This morning, the conservative-majority Supreme Court struck down Trump’s disastrous tariffs, a direct tax on working families that forced Americans to pay more for groceries, clothes, cars, and electronics. For over a year, Trump charged ordinary people illegal taxes while gaslighting them about his failing economy. Americans paid 95% of Trump’s tariff bill, with families shelling out more than a $1,000 extra last year for basic necessities. Now that the Supreme Court rightfully ruled Trump’s tariff taxes illegal, when can working families expect refunds for the money Trump illegally took from their paychecks? The American people need answers, and they need their money back.

TRUMP’S ILLEGAL TARIFF TAXES HURT WORKING AMERICANS & SMALL BUSINESSES

  • The Average American Family Paid Over $1,000 In Tariff Costs In 2025. An analysis by the Senate Joint Economic Committee found that in just 10 months last year the average American family paid nearly $1,200 in tariff costs. The Tax Foundation projected that Americans will be on the hook for another $1,300 in Trump tariff taxes in 2026.

  • Americans Paid 95% Of Trump’s Tariffs – Not Other Countries. Trump promised that foreign countries and corporations would pay for the cost of his massive tariffs. Instead, the CBO estimates that U.S. consumers have borne 95% of the burden of Trump’s tariffs.

  • American Small Businesses Saw Their Bills Triple Because Of Trump’s Tariffs Last Year. A JP Morgan analysis found that tariffs paid by midsized U.S. businesses tripled over the course of last year. Small businesses, from beauty shops to chocolatiers, have been disproportionately hurt by Trump’s tariffs hiking input costs and causing mass supply chain disruption.

  • Trump’s Tariffs Drove Up Costs For Farmers And Gutted America’s Top Agricultural Exports. American farmers have been caught in the middle of Trump’s tariffs. His trade war caused U.S. agricultural exports to China to collapse by 73%, with soybean farmers losing $5.7 billion in exports to China alone after Trump’s retaliatory tariffs. Trump’s tariffs on fertilizer drove prices up 16 to 39%, hiking farmers’ input costs.

  • 11 Million Visitors Short: Trump’s Tariffs Tanked Tourism. Thanks to Trump’s tariffs and terrifying immigration policies, 11 million foreign visitors to the United States simply didn’t show up last year. Similarly, Trump’s tariffs on Canada caused tourism to the U.S. to plummet, with 4 million fewer Canadian travelers visiting the U.S. in 2025 – a 22% drop. Trump’s tariffs caused Las Vegas tourism to drop 11 percent in year-over-year visitor volume. Florida saw a 15% drop in tourism as well.
