Report: Pennsylvania Legislators Call Out Donald Trump and Republicans For Their Broken Promises on Affordability

By December 9, 2025No Comments

Today, Donald Trump is touching down in Pennsylvania to gaslight Keystone State residents on the affordability crisis affecting every aspect of their lives. In response, legislators from the Commonwealth are releasing an up-to-date report, along with Defend America Action, calling out Trump and Congressional Republicans for their lies about the economy. Across Pennsylvania, costs are up, and voters know exactly who’s to blame. Whether it’s home prices up higher than the national average, grocery prices rising at the fastest pace in three years, Pennie marketplace health insurance costs set to jump more than 100% next year, electric bills climbing 10%, or Pennsylvanians being forced to pay $1.6 billion in new taxes because of Trump’s tariffs, the list of Trump’s broken promises goes on and on. In the report, the legislators note this, and point out the only people doing well under this administration are Trump’s wealthy and well-connected friends:

“Throughout his second term, Trump and Republicans in Congress have worked feverishly to obliterate the economic security of millions across the country – and working families are the ones paying the price for their reckless incompetence and determination to reward their rich and powerful friends at the expense of everyone else.”

The report goes on to note that Trump made a point of promising Pennsylvanians economic relief on the campaign trail last year. He committed to getting food prices “way down,” said he would “end inflation,” and even claimed energy and utility prices would be cut by 50% in a year. As Trump and co. entertain at a luxury casino and resort tonight, they’ll have to answer for this administration’s long list of economic failures.
