New Report: Thanks to Trump, Super Bowl LX Party Costs Are Through The Roof

By February 8, 2026No Comments

Today, ahead of Super Bowl LX, Defend America Action released a new report calling out the Trump administration for skyrocketing prices on Super Bowl party staples like soda, beer, nachos, and buffalo wings. Beef prices are up more than 15% this year alone; chicken is up more than 25% in the last five years; aluminum, used in beer and soda cans, has risen above $1 a pound in the US for the first time in history; and potato chips are up 37% since 2021.

It’s no mystery who football fans have to thank for this snackflation: Donald Trump, whose tariffs have kept inflation high and single-handedly raised Americans’ costs across the board. For working families planning to kick back and enjoy the big game on Sunday, the same party with the same food will cost more than it did last year.

The report goes on to note that, despite Trump’s claims to the contrary, food prices across the spectrum are rising faster than inflation, hitting lower-income households the hardest. Grocery store prices are nearly 26% higher than they were five years ago. And there’s no help from Trump and Republicans in sight. The National Retail Federation predicted that total Super Bowl spending could climb around 9% this year compared to last, driven largely by the cost of food and drinks. This all comes as the American people have been subject to more than a year of Trump’s affordability crisis that has made working families weaker while richly rewarding big corporations and the ultra-wealthy.
