Defend America Action Will Challenge Trump’s Abuse of Power and Amplify Those Fighting Back
WASHINGTON – Donald Trump is abusing his power to benefit himself and his wealthy friends at the expense of working families, and his Republican allies in Congress are enabling him. A new group launching today, Defend America Action (DAA), will challenge Trump’s abuse of power and expose how his policies harm the economy and betray the working Americans he claimed to champion.
Led by experienced political advocates, DAA will deploy targeted messaging, rapid response capabilities, sophisticated digital engagement, influencer cultivation, public opinion research, allied group coordination, and strategic event bracketing.
“Donald Trump is abusing his power to benefit himself and his wealthy friends at the expense of working families,” said Zac Petkanas, DAA’s founder and senior strategist. “Americans face higher prices, economic uncertainty, threats to health care, Social Security and veterans’ benefits, and Trump-induced chaos that weakens us domestically and internationally. Our effort will clearly demonstrate how Trump’s decisions benefit the wealthy while harming working families, highlighting the gap between his promises and the actual impact of his policies.”
In addition to Petkanas, DAA’s leadership includes Senior Adviser Jess McIntosh, Senior Spokesperson Rodericka Applewhaite, and Director of Outreach Joe Vogel. The organization will soon employ nearly a dozen experienced operatives including communicators, writers, researchers, and digital strategists focused on exposing how Trump and his allies undermine middle-class families.
DAA’s Core Activities Include:
- Large weekly coordinating calls
- Daily message guidance
- Cross-platform amplification of key news, video clips, and viral content
- Rapid response communications
- Strategic event bracketing
- Research and analysis on harmful Trump policies
- Nationwide coordination with allied groups and elected officials
DAA will operate nationally, coordinating with aligned groups and elected officials across the country to create a consistent narrative about the threat Donald Trump and his allies pose to working families struggling with costs of groceries, health care, and other necessities.
