GOP SHUTDOWN, ONE WEEK IN: The American People Blame Republicans for Trump’s Shutdown and Want His Health Care Crisis Fixed

By October 7, 2025No Comments

Instead of solving their self-inflicted Trump Health Care Crisis like the vast majority of Americans want them to do, Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans in Congress are now approaching one week since they shut down the government. Seven days into the Trump Shutdown, the American people know better than ever who’s responsible for it: the MAGA Republicans that control the White House and both houses of Congress. MAGA Mike Johnson still hasn’t brought his members back to DC to do their jobs, and even refused to commit to extending the life-saving Affordable Care Act tax credits, even though the vast, vast majority of the American people want him to do just that. If Republicans continue down this road, Trump’s Health Care Crisis will cut coverage for millions of working families, skyrocket premiums, and close scores of hospitals.
