WASHINGTON, D.C. — In heart-wrenching remarks today, survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse gathered on Capitol Hill to demand that Mike Johnson and congressional leadership support the release of all the Epstein files and ensure full transparency in the ongoing investigation. The survivors are calling for immediate action to uncover the truth about Epstein’s network of abuse while confronting Donald Trump’s cronies that are obstructing efforts to bring the full scope of the scandal to light. Despite bipartisan calls for transparency, survivors are facing a coordinated effort to suppress critical information that could provide justice and accountability for those who enabled Epstein’s crimes.
In response, Defend America Action Senior Spokesperson Rodericka Applewhaite released the following statement:
“The ongoing cover-up of the Epstein files by Donald Trump’s allies in Congress is a disgraceful betrayal of these courageous survivors. They deserve answers, not political protection schemes designed to shield powerful individuals from accountability. We know Trump’s name appears in these files, and the pattern of obstruction – from dangling a possible pardon in front of Ghislaine Maxwell to ensuring her placement in a cushy minimum-security facility – reveals a systematic effort to protect Trump and a network of enablers. Every day that MAGA Mike Johnson and his colleagues delay the release of these documents is another day that justice is denied to survivors who have waited far too long for the truth.”
